For the uninitiated in my work, I’d like to provide a link to my book, Grassroots Rules: How the Iowa Caucus Helps Elect American Presidents (Stanford University Press, 2007). The work was drawn from my doctoral dissertation (which in case anyone cares, won distinction from its committee and was nominated for the American Political Science Association’s annual prize for best dissertation of the year in American politics).
Grassroots Rules is my attempt to describe in detail how the Iowa caucuses work, including a full statistical analysis of it, as well as some illustrative (and often fun) stories from those who worked in the trenches to win or lose presidential races.
